Sylvia Taran, 81, of Snelling Avenue died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, in Lakeshore Lutheran Home.

Sylvia was born in Superior and graduated from Duluth Central High School.

She was a member of Temple Israel, Temple Israel Sisterhood, Hadassah and was a volunteer at St. Mary's Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1987; a brother, Benjamin; and her parents, Leon and Rose Mosler.

Sylvia is survived by her sons Seth (Carol) and Zach (Jean), both of Duluth, and Benjamin of Sarcy, Ark.; a daughter, Lisa (Joe) Taran-Maddy of Lino Lakes, Minn.; a sister, Beatrice (Tony) Ujdur of Duluth; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Shaara Tzedek Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors, Jarvi-Dowd Chapel.
